Product Description

Intensive lessons focused on pin-pointing the requirements of the test, particularly observation and hazard perception. These lessons are particularly good for experienced drivers or those committed to passing their test quickly. In addition to the teaching aids supplied with standard lessons, students receive extra visual aids, and a free DVD Visual Guide to passing your test. For EDT the learner must have at least a 6 month waiver for test from the RSA and meet EDT lesson 9 on their initial assessment.

LESSON 1: CAR CONTROLS AND SAFETY CHECKS
To use the vehicle’s primary controls such as steering wheel and brakes, To use the secondary controls such as windscreen wipers and lights, Driving in quiet and safe conditions, Some basic manoeuvres such as starting and stopping

LESSON 2: CORRECT POSITIONING
Driving on the straight, Looking as far ahead as possible and looking back towards front of car, Cornering, Negotiating bends and junctions, Changing lanes, Entering and exiting from slip roads, Entering and exiting junctions and roundabouts, Correct positioning within traffic lanes

LESSON 3: CHANGING DIRECTION
Moving off, Turning Left and Right, Negotiating/Turning at Roundabouts and Negotiating Junctions. Use of Mirrors Key observational techniques in low-risk driving situations such as in quiet residential areas, quiet local and rural roads. Changing direction, observation and management of speed.

LESSON 4: PROGRESSION MANAGEMENT
Adjusting speed, Controlling Speed, Speed Limits, Stopping Distances, and Effects of road and weather conditions, Driving too fast, Braking too hard with the effects on passengers and other road users. The effects of weights and loads on vehicles handling and stopping. Environmental effects

LESSON 5: CORRECT POSITIONING
Positioning on the straight, Cornering, Negotiating bends, Negotiating junctions, Changing lanes, Entering and exiting from slip roads, Entering and exiting junctions, Roundabouts (split-vision), Reversing, Turning, Parking, Stopping, Correctly position your vehicle while progressing through traffic and within traffic lanes.

LESSON 6: ANTICIPATION AND REACTION
How to scan the environment for potential hazards, and can identify and respond appropriately to potential hazards. Use of correct gear and speed, safe distances, braking correctly, particularly in rain, fog, ice, snow and at night.

LESSON 7: SHARING THE ROAD
Drive with due care and attention for the road and traffic conditions. Taking appropriate action when you identify hazards and continuous use of mirrors. Negotiate Junctions, park safely, passing stationary/moving vehicles, cyclists other road users with caution. To yield/give way to all road users when necessary, priority right of way. Deal with Blue light/Emergency vehicles.

LESSON 8: DRIVING SAFELY THROUGH TRAFFIC
Drive with due care and attention where there is a significant volume of other traffic. Defensive driving, the safety bubble, anticipating risk to others, co-operation with other road users. Avoid hesitation and progress safely.

LESSON 9: CHANGING DIRECTION (MORE COMPLEX SITUATIONS)
Observational and scanning turning left and right, negotiate junctions, change direction in more complex and challenging driving situations. Some of this lesson should involve you making independent driving decisions and, where available, you should make use of dual carriageways.

LESSON 10: SPEED MANAGEMENT
Regulate and maintain good control over the speed of the vehicle in more complex or challenging driving situations. Manage and control speed, drive safely in fast moving and variable speed traffic, 

LESSON 11: DRIVING CALMLY
For most of this lesson you should be driving independently and making your own decisions. Remain in calm control of your vehicle in situations where you may be: frustrated, exasperated, feel threatened, being fit to drive, safe loading of vehicles. Good anticipation, Reaction, Drive safely and independently without prompting, recover a stalled vehicle or forced stop.

LESSON 12: NIGHT DRIVING
Use your vehicle lighting correctly, respond correctly to the lights of other road users, you should also be able to maintain full control of the vehicle while driving through traffic in the dark and in poor lighting conditions
